What supports the price?

A premium price can reflect brand, scarcity, distribution or service. A research framework should distinguish these sources rather than assuming every premium is durable.

Connect the brand to cash flow

Compare price changes with volume, inventory, receivables and margins. Revenue growth alone cannot explain whether a company is building durable economic strength.

Look at capital allocation

How much capital is committed to stores, production and inventory? What remains for reinvestment or distributions? The balance sheet helps connect the product story with the financial story.

Questions to test

  • Does demand persist after price increases?
  • Are inventories rising faster than sales?
  • What evidence supports scarcity?
  • Which investments protect future earning power?

This preserves the original luxury and pricing-power research direction. Company comparisons and verified financial evidence are future work.
